A packed auditorium surges with people. Thousands spill out into the aisles… hands are high in the air. 7,600 miles away from their New Zealand homeland, Rapture Ruckus are rocking the stage and winning over new fans. This is Rapture Ruckus TV, South African edition. The camera zooms to a sign scribbled with “LOVE PEOPLE, LOVE RUCKUS, LOVE GOD”, and that seems like one good mantra for this down-to-earth group of Kiwi's, who own the stage like royalty. Rapture Ruckus released their Debut album, I BELIEVE in 2006. Winning a 2007 New Zealand Music Award for Best Gospel Album, the album was mastered by Hollywood’s legendary Brian ‘Big Bass’ Gardner (Dr Dre, Michael Jackson), and features trademark Ruckus big beats and heavy guitar's. Front man Brad Dring’s stirring declaration in the title track proves his former drug habit and broken-home roots have nothing on his newfound confidence in Christ. Late 2008 saw Ruckus’ album number two, LIVE AT WORLD’S END, drop at 7 on the New Zealand Album charts. The live release captures Rapture Ruckus’ electric Parachute 08 Mainstage performance and is packaged with a Live DVD showcasing the act’s commanding stage presence. Dring has the crowd chanting the lyrics with gusto. They’re gritty, they’re honest, and Rapture Ruckus has grown into a seasoned act connecting with punters across the board.
